A True Family Business
Welcome to the Van den Tillaart family of Zijtaart in Noord-Brabant province, where we breed, raise and sell mainly dressage horses. Our stable is run by Ad, Willemien and Paula van den Tillaart.
We grew up in the horse breeding business. Our father Piet van den Tillaart was a renowned breeder. He produced foals every year and presented them at the local, central and national mare inspections. The Van den Tillaart family also bred Banjo (by Doruto), which under Jo Rutten became best Dutch rider at the Olympic Games in Montreal in 1976.
Over the years, breeding a beautiful horse for the inspection ring gave way to breeding for performance. Our goal, therefore, is to breed sporthorses which can compete at the highest level.
Flagship Horses
VDT Horses have more than earned their “stripes” in breeding. Van den Tillaart horses are mainly out of the mare-line of our foundation mare E-Delypsa. Several horses from this line which have demonstrated outstanding performance include Velvet V.D.T., Delypsa II V.D.T. and Osmium Traits evident in offspring from this mare-line include a good hind leg.
You might call Velvet V.D.T. the flagship horse of VDT Horses, as this Ferro daughter has already produced three approved sons. Her son Improver V.D.T. (Apache x Ferro), while Goldfinger V.D.T. (Jazz x Ferro) and his full-brother Hot Shot V.D.T. (Jazz x Ferro) are stabled with Andreas Helgstrand of Denmark. The Dane purchased Hot Shot V.D.T. at the KWPN Select Sale.
